International Film Festival Rotterdam

To mark the 75th anniversary of the reconstruction of Rotterdam, a city inhabited by people from 175 different countries, the IFFR asked six filmmakers from different corners of the world to make a cinematographic reflection on the theme of “reconstruction”. In Personal Reconstructions, we further pursue this theme and show you three films contemplating the possibility of change on the individual level: In Hong Kong, Canada, and Brazil, people prepare themselves to make a step forward. But before making a move, each of them must pause, look back, and take in what exactly they are going to leave behind.
