With the international program film.factory, developed by the renowned director Béla Tarr, the Sarajevo Film Academy successfully encourages the development of new talents. At the same time, the Academy serves as a production laboratory where students (future filmmakers) can work with world-renowned film professionals.
The program presents an interactive platform which unites theoretical and practical work in a unique way, not available at any other film academy. The whole process of intensive education and practical work results in the production of films by talented young filmmakers from over 35 countries.
The work done by the Sarajevo Film Academy so far shows that the Academy possesses both educational and production capacities for detecting, educating, and promoting the new generation of international filmmakers, as well as the capacity to house a unique art movement relevant for the global cultural scene and film community.
The successful cooperation between the Sarajevo Film Academy film.factory program and Zagreb Film Festival began by granting two Croatian candidates scholarships for the MFA studies of the film.factory program. This year’s edition of the Zagreb Film Festival includes a special screening of short films made by the students of the BFA and MFA studies of the film.factory program.
