A high-rise in a housing project and a broken elevator connect six characters and their stories on the dreamlike backdrop of a cold and neon urban landscape. A lonely old man in a wheelchair meets a night nurse on one of his desperate nocturnal wanderings. A faded actress captures the attention of a neglected teenage boy, Charly. An American astronaut falls on the roof of the run-down apartment building and is taken in by the caring Mrs. Hamida. These twisted little stories bring together six different fates in a subtle and humorous way, addressing all that makes us human: our faults, virtues, hopes, and dreams. The film premiered in Cannes and won the Audience Award for Best Feature Film at the Mediterranean Film Festival in Split.
