Second feature by the famous fashion designer Tom Ford is a stylized blend of romance and noir-thriller revolving around former married couple, Susan and Edward. Susan is an art gallery owner who isn’t satisfied with her lavish lifestyle and mostly absent husband Hutton. One day in her letterbox, she finds a novel written by her ex-husband, whom she hasn’t seen in years. Susan eagerly starts reading it and gets thrown off balance by its surprisingly violent plot – it’s a bloodcurdling story of a teacher whose family trip turns into a nightmare when they are pushed off the road by a trio of violent delinquents. The film won the Grand Jury Prize at the Venice International Film Festival.
