A little girl, Fatma, and her mother are Kurdish immigrants living in Italy. During a visit to the doctor, Fatma has to translate the doctor’s words to her mother, but remains silent instead. The film premiered in Cannes’ short film competition.

Farnoosh Samadi, Ali Asgari

Farnoosh Samadi is the screenwriter of short films More Than Two Hours and The Baby, which were directed by Ali Asgari. They are working together on the screenplay for their first feature film. The Silence is Ali Asgari’s first film shot outside of Iran.
